Light-proofing – Getting the light right with the right fabric

Lighting is becoming increasingly important in many areas of our day-to-day life. Our personal performance is directly linked to our well-being and a stress-free environment produced by our products. Appropriate light-proofing can positively influence this environment – and thus the mood of the people within it.

The aim is therefore to create an atmosphere that not only reduces excessive brightness to a comfortable intensity but still manages to guarantee an adequate amount of incident light.

Light-proofing is a key task area for large-format textiles that are located in the immediate vicinity of windows. Diffuse light is reduced, and the reflection of light within enclosed spaces is minimised. Also of increasing significance in our day-to-day lives, in terms of visual comfort, is the quality of monitor and screen displays from electronic equipment such as TV sets or computers. To maximise viewing quality for these electronic screens, efficient light-proofing is required that does not depend on the time of day.
